Solo Mio in Cabo!

Sun, sand and serenity on the Sea of Cortez, Feb. 9-16, 2007

Looking for a place to set his shades and disposable camera, Bernardo decides that a nearby cactus will do.
Some cacti aren't as dangerous to sit on as others. This one looks downright cushy!
Some look like they come from the bottom of the sea, with tentacles floating above them.
This resembles a hen-and-chicks plant.
These gorgeous lavender blossoms are cacti, too! Their petals are thick and rubbery.
Each type of cactus has its own way of attracting what it needs, and of protecting itself.
Watch out for this one...its spines can penetrate skin as if it were tissue paper.
Does a cactus bite? Just ask Julio, who works at Cactimundo.
If I were naming them, I'd call this one "catarpillar cactus."
I liked the markings on this one.
The folds of a taffeta dress? The Great Wall of China from the air? No, just a close-up on a cactus.
This one looks approachable, but don't touch!
My favorite cactus photo...it looks like they're gossiping in the midst of a party!
Now this is my kind of garden...lots of green, flowers when it rains, free from pests and never needs watering!
A sunlit corner in a lovely little cantina called Jazmin's lured us in for shrimp and cervezas.
Festive colors give Jazmin's a party feel.
The chef makes a promotional video for the restaurant's catering business.
A wistful gaze onto the sunny street...do I really have to leave this place?
My nightcap: Bernardo's gift of rompope (say rom-POH-pay), a traditional Mexican liquer that tastes like eggnog.
Today I finally got to see Todos Santos! It's about a one-hour drive from Cabo San Lucas.
